22 January 1969 Mr. Shek-chun MA founded the Oriental Daily News in Gough Street, Central.
16 June 1969 The headquarters was moved to Cheong Ip Building in Wan Chai and the editorial policy of "No to indiscriminate extracting and cropping and yes to conciseness and preciseness" was adopted.
1 January 1973 The headquarters was moved to Kwei Chow Street, Kowloon, and became the first newspaper to maintain a head office on Kowloon side when all others were on the Hong Kong Island.
January 1973 Became the first newspaper in Hong Kong to have a printing plant equipped with high-speed offset rotary presses.
June 1976 The Oriental Daily News went down in history for breaking the circulation threshold of 300,000 copies a day.
May 1977 Circulation of the Oriental Daily News soared to 350,000 copies a day with a daily readership of 738,000 and has remained ever since the best selling newspaper in Hong Kong without a break.
Autumn 1977 Mr. Ching-kwan MA took over and brought the well-grounded Oriental Daily News to the next level.
1982 Acquired a printing plant occupying an area of 1,900 square metres in Ma Tau Kok Road, To Kwa Wan. With printing capacity drastically increased with 40 high-speed colour rotary printing units and modernized conveyer system, the Oriental Daily News was able to meet the demand of a daily circulation of over 500,000 copies and to embark on colour printing beginning from 1 May.
October 1982 Despite economic downturn in the territory in the run-up to 1997, the Group actively sought expansion and acquired a site of 3,000 square metres in Wang Tai Road, Kowloon Bay, for constructing a newspaper centre with a floor area of over 30,000 square metres.
18 August 1987 The Oriental Daily News became a public listed company and was renamed Oriental Press Group Limited. The initial public offer of 254 million shares attracted an oversubscription of 310 times, mopping up some HK$71.45 billion of capital, a record high for the local market.
22 January 1990 The Oriental Press Centre in Wang Tai Road, Kowloon Bay, was inaugurated. The 11-storey building was equipped with 66 state-of-the-art high-speed colour rotary printing units supported by computer-controlled and fully automatic conveyer belts, forming the largest printing presses of its kind in the world.

The entertainment magazine Oriental Sunday was launched.
12 September 1991 The Sun Racing Journal was launched, boasting state-of-the-art technology, the strongest staff and the best tipsters to tie in with the latest developments in horse racing.

The newly acquired Jade Magazine was revamped and its inaugural issue came out in print.

29 October 1992 The Eastweek for covering current affairs and entertainment was launched.

18 March 1999 The Sun was launched as the Group's second daily.

8 February 2002 The Oriental Daily News ePaper and The Sun ePaper were officially launched. The Group's Honorary Chairman Mr. Ching-kwan MA conceived the idea of a flippable ePaper whereby the newspaper is uploaded onto the web as it is so that it can be read in real time anywhere in the world. With much arduous experiment and innovation by the Group's information technology experts, an ideal reading environment was created for our ePapers.
May 2004 The Oriental Daily News and The Sun were granted permission for direct distribution on the Mainland and subscription was possible from then on at the China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Corporation in 22 cities/regions around the country.
21 November 2004 The Oriental Press Centre, the Group's new headquarters in Tai Po Industrial Estate was inaugurated. Sitting on a site of 18,000 square metres with a gross floor area of 46,000 square metres, the new headquarters consist of two blocks, one being a 12-storey office block and the other a printing plant. Taking together the construction cost of over HK$ 500 million and 64 4-colour single width printing units are among the world largest printing plant, the total investment injected into the new headquarters amounted to approximately HK$ 1.7 billion.
9 December 2005 wap.orisun.com, the first mobile site in Hong Kong media, was launched.
11 October 2006 As breakthrough of traditional news reporting, the Group launched Ireport, an online platform for citizen reporters.
23 January 2007 Stepping into Web 2.0, orisun.com was relaunched and advanced to a new Chinese community portal namely, on.cc, providing more interactive and real-time information services. New channels including upgraded version of Ireport, Video and World were released on the same day, providing entertainment and infotainment video and worldwide news with width and depth to netizens.
14 March 2008 The Group is the Frontrunner in the world of New Media today with the launch of ontv - the free online TV, we provide our audiences with fresh commentaries programs, in-depth investment analysis as well as first hand News, Entertainment and Lifestyle programs on ontv channels daily.
October 2008 Supplement Trend Reports has been attached with Oriental Daily News to strengthen its lifestyle contents.
October 2009 Being appointed as one of the designated BMP web sites of HKEx, the Group introduced Money 18 free real-time stock quotes service and has became an instant market focus. The service received magnificent reviews among users and advertisers.
November 2009 Emerging from the global business trend of mobile network growth, the Group has launched iPhone applications for Money 18 and on.cc Breaking News.
The Group presented supplement LUXE life in wood free paper.
February 2010 The Group presented epaper versions of supplement LUXE life.

November 2010 As the immense success of Trend Reports, the Group has launched a revolutionary fashion Paperzine, FLASH on Weekly, targeting high-end female readers. iPhone, iPad and epaper versions were also launched in sync.
